Hot and sticky conditions on the Alafia today produced some quality bass/bluegill fishing on the fly! Throwing small white foam poppers near fallen structure and indented bank pockets seemed to be the ticket for a solid bite! The river is covered with fallen structure from the most recent storms and presented the perfect opportunity to target the ambush points that bass love. Smaller is always better when it comes to fly fishing for bass especially on the river where the casting is tight and limited. Below are the flies I threw today and the fish I caught off of these jokers. I highly recommend going out onto the river on your day off and enjoying the tranquility of the woods as I did today. The popper came out on top today with some exciting eats. Chase adventure because you never know when you can have a heck of a day out there!
